Chocolate Dipped Fruit Lollipops

How To Make Fruit Lollipops

These fruit lollipops are really easy to make, and you can even get the kids in to help. They are a great dessert or snack for children and toddlers and are a fairly healthy treat that would be lovely to make up for kids parties or summer days.

Anything that encourages little ones to eat more fruit is good in my book and my toddler will never normally eat strawberries but with a drizzle of chocolate and sprinkles she wolfs them down 🙂 The stick also helps her not to get too messy.

I have used banana and strawberries, but you could use whatever fruits you like, like little cubes of melon or raspberries.

How To Make Fruit Lollipops:

1. Prepare and cut up your fruit (remove stalk from strawberries and peel banana). I cut the end off each banana then cut them in half and left the strawberries whole.

2. Stick the fruit onto your lolly sticks. I bought 100 lolly sticks on eBay for £1.55 with free delivery so they are cheap to make too!

3. Put a sheet of baking paper onto a baking tray.

4. Melt some chocolate in a bowl in the microwave (in short bursts, stirring often) or in a bowl over a pan of hot water.

5.  Dip your fruit lolly into the chocolate to coat. You can coat fully like I did with the bananas or just drizzle like I did with the strawberries.

6. Place the dipped lollies onto the baking paper and decorate with sprinkles.

7. Pop in the fridge for an hour or so until the chocolate has set. Mine lasted a day in the fridge, the bananas lasted longer as they were fully covered in chocolate.

Variations:

  • Use an fruit you like – I think melon and pineapple would be lovely!
  • Dip in dark or milk chocolate first, then when the lollies have set, drizzle with white chocolate.
  • Sprinkle with crushed nuts or grated white chocolate.

I’d love to know if you have any more ideas we could try.
